Call For Proposals
Our Mission: "To instill in our Latino (a) youth the value of education, which nurtures mind, body and spirit in order to develop a social consciousness that empowers them as leaders for social justice and civic responsibility in the greater community." Presenters will be expected to offer practical experience to help attendees increase their understanding, knowledge and skills in one of the particular strands of interest listed.

C. Culture, Identity and Arts The conference proposal submission process is detailed below. Proposals will be evaluated on all of the following criteria: - The proposed topic and presentation will enhance the skills of participants and/or provide participants with useful tools.
- Clearly explain how the presenter(s) intend to actively engage the audience in the session.
- Reflect diverse perspectives by offering different viewpoints or including presenter(s) from different organizations (if more than one presenter is proposed)
- Have goals that are clearly specified and achievable for the length of the proposed session.
What You Need to Know About Presenting at the Conference - Session Length: Sessions are 50 minutes in length.
- There are 3 sessions available – morning, midday and afternoon.
- Travel Reimbursement for Presenters: Due to the limited funding available to reimburse the travel-related expenses we will not be able to provide any form of reimbursement.
- Speakers must arrange and pay for all their travel-related expenses.
- Audio-Visual Equipment: Presenters are encouraged to bring their own computers with PowerPoint viewer software (or other needed software) and LCD projectors to show all of their presentation materials.
- Meals: Presenters will be provided with a complimentary breakfast/lunch, beverages and snacks.
Proposal Submission Process/Schedule: - September 24, 2010 to December 10, 2010
Use the application form to complete and submit a written proposal (by email, fax or snail mail).
December 10, 2010 - Deadline for the submission of proposals.
December 13 – December 17, 2010
- Notification by email of presentation selection.
January 28, 2011
- Final confirmation- Session time and room confirmation
